SYNOPSIS: Pixies, Witches and Magic, a long journey through the traditions of the Appenine Mountains
This documentary film by Simonetta Rossi, written by Mario Ferraguti, narrates the long journey undertaken by Giuan Baratta in an attempt to save his daughter, Tecla, from a mortal curse put upon her by a terrible witch. The Voice Over narrates the itinerary of the wayfarer, a “magic round tour” of the most attractive localities of the Italian Appenine Mountains. An Odyssey capable of unveiling a kind of variegated mythology which has its origins in traditions passed on by word of mouth. Traditions which have become more and more difficult to retrieve except through the stories of the few survivors who are still living in the mountain villages. In the villages which Giouan passed through, real people relate the characteristics of the magic personalities traditionally present in the area and their experiences of meeting up with them. So, onto the scene come: THE PIXIE, BAFFARDELLO, THE ANGUANE, THE TECCHIE FAIRY, THE WEREWOLF, THE LUCABAGIA WITCH AND REGLE’.
